Beads have very dark purple center ring. It appears almost black unless back lit. The Picasso finish on the rounded part of the beads is a gorgeous green patina. The colors compliment each other perfectly.

The second photo of these beads is back lit and photographed in bright light conditions. Beads will appear darker when used against darker colors or not lit from behind. If beads are not viewed in an upright position that allows light to pass through the dark purple ring they will look black.
